Five-Word Speeches Steal Show at First-Ever Webby Film and Video Awards
New York, NY (PRWEB) June 5, 2007 -- Jessica Lee Rose, a.k.a. "lonelygirl15", made history with what was undoubtedly the shortest Best Actress award speech ever at yesterday's inaugural Webby Film and Video Awards, the first major awards to honor original film and video premiering on the Internet.
Along with a dozen other winners at the star-studded gala, Rose was merely observing the famous five-word limit placed on all Webby Awards acceptance speeches, a crowd-pleaser since the awards' inception eleven years ago.
"Being traditional and saying thanks," said Rose.
Rose, who played the enigmatic title character in the acclaimed fictional video diary "lonelygirl15," was one of two online superstars to be honored with the first-ever Webby Special Achievement Award for Acting. "Ninja," from the breakout Web comedy series "Ask a Ninja," won the award for Best Actor.
